The Ministry of the Environment spoke on the wind farm project Sinis.
The Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea - Directorate for Nature Protection In response to 'notice of opposition ( September 20, 2009 ) submitted by ecological associations Legal Intervention Group and Friends of the Earth , addressed (note DPN-2009-22016 of October 19, 2009) regarding the Central offshore wind Sinis . He has put in arrears the Captaincy of the Port of Oristano the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Department of environmental protection and regional planning) and 'Marine Protected Area Sinis ( managed by the Municipality of Cabras) recalling the existence of Feedback before the European Court of Justice for serious violations of Community legislation concerning the protection of habitats (Directive No. 92/43) to because of building work on wooded dunes of Is Arenas (Narberth), Site of Community Importance . The Case C-491/08 sees the Italian state before the judge following the Community No infringement procedure 1998/2346 launched by the European Commission its action on of ecological associations Legal Intervention Group and Friends of the Earth .
The Ministry of Environment remember that - precisely for these reasons - the Autonomous Region of Sardinia approved the management plan of Site of Community Importance - Is for SIC Arenas , which provides a wide sea area , affected by the wind farm project proposed by the Sinis Is Arenas Renewables Energies Ltd However, there is any prior impact assessment of the project sullle environmental components of the SIC, or procedure environmental impact assessment. We will therefore - as always emphasized by the Ministry of Environment - to be assessed impacts on land and on sea landscape, the noise , the damage to wildlife and, specifically, to 'bird (particularly raptors and migratory birds), damage to the seabed and, specifically, to seagrass meadows.
In short, the Ministry of Environment stakes planted deep against a project that seems too dangerous.
