L ' Akakor GEOGRAPHICAL EXPLORING is Italian cultural association founded in 1992 with the aim of carrying out exploration, technical and scientific studies to and implement projects and cultural exchanges in various areas of implementation.
The Amazon forest is one of the last frontiers of the civilized world: in a territory that extends as that of the continental North American (although on the maps would seem to suggest otherwise), divided between territories of Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and parts of Guyana, and where modern man has never set foot, born myths handed down from century to century by the inhabitants of the region about the unexplored areas of the surroundings.
Akakor links his name to a series of legends born in the Amazon and well known by some, that the ground would be crossed by long tunnels that connect them several underground cities in South America, the largest of which is precisely Akakor. The spirit of research in this mysterious city of brave explorers by underground, is linked to the work of the caver and geologist, has always drawn from the depths of our planet, which constitute one of the last uncharted and unexplored until now.
