: Explosion in mine, 21 dead

Roma - 22/03/2007 - Following a gas explosion in a coal mine in Jincheng (Shanxi, a province in northern China) took place Sunday morning, 21 miners were trapped following a structural collapse. 20 bodies were found a meter is missing. The rescue took place with 44-hour delay because JunJun Wang, the owner of the mine on its behalf Miaojiang, attempted to cover up the serious accident. A first analysis of the Office for Occupational Safety Jincheng, it can be said that the workers had exceeded the safety limit set for the production of coal. Eleven arrests of those responsible for the tragedy, including the mine owner Wang JunJun, the contractor, the inspector of the district for safety at work and the person responsible for monitoring the density of gas. It seems that the police are looking for three other people involved in the events, and two party officials in the village where the tragedy took place were dismissed because they seem to be involved with the coverage of the accident.
